The LASER-SENS provides virtual detection of open areas using laser sensor based scanning technology, continuously monitoring selected regions of interest and alerting on targets entering its range. Unlike short-to-mid range radars that are easily affected by reflected objects within their scanning range, the LASER-SENS actually uses these objects to provide an instant map of the scanned area, detailing all the existing objects and obstacles (such as trees, rocks, structures etc.). Based on this pre-learned map the system immediately detects any moving target within its range, while ignoring all the other stationary objects. Still, the moving objects are alerted only when entering the customized alarm zones, defined according to range, type, size or other operational requirements.
